Feeling supported in the first trimester is important. This can be a time of vulnerability, uncertainty and change.

Women often experience nausea and exhaustion alongside the pressure to perform in the workplace with a pace unchanged. Trying to hide symptoms is stressful, and deciding who to share the big news with is hard.

The way our current culture provides care during this time isn’t holding the depth and breadth of what women really need.

Many also experience nervousness about the wellbeing of the pregnancy - especially if pregnancy loss or fertility challenges have been a part of the story. There is a big decisions to be made too - choosing a pregnancy care provider.

In my clinical practice I’ve observed how the onset of first trimester symptoms mean women feel spread too thin to continue to maintain clinic-based appointments for the supportive care they desire.

That’s why I’m coming to you. To make a supported first trimester possible.

If nausea and vomiting are severe have a look at Hyperemesis Gravidarum Support

 Together we will:

  • Acupuncture to settle nausea, support energy levels, hold you emotionally and assist with other symptoms

  • Play a meditation during the acupuncture specific to your needs

  • Demonstrate acupressure points and techniques to use between treatments for symptom management

  • Talk through simple, important lifestyle and dietary factors to support your early pregnancy experience

  • Identify symptom triggers and contributing factors to reduce their impact

  • Talk through any pregnancy care provider questions you have. These decisions need to be made early in pregnancy and often coincide with first trimester fatigue which makes thinking and deciding more difficult. We can talk through birth provider options and different models of maternity care if you’re unsure.
