Around 5% of babies are birthed on their due date. Meaning, 95% aren’t born on their due date.
Most mothers will birth in the 2-week period surrounding their due date. And the average gestation for a first time mum is actually 40 weeks + 5 days.

Many women feel the pressure to ‘get themselves into labour’ when conversations with care providers switch from light hearted to booking induction dates.
In this pressured environment, women can doubt their body and their ability. To feel like they are failing at labour before their very first contraction. Like all their preparation is out the window.
The cycle perpetuates itself - the stress of not being in labour post dates and the sense of a ‘ticking clock’ can inhibit the bodies ability to feel safe enough to establish labour spontaneously.

We need to break the stress cycle. Normalise where you are standing. To take a breath and then set you up with a fresh mindset. Do loads of acupuncture. Acupressure. Talk through active birthing tools. Then lean in and allow your body to unfold its own unique and glorious process.
